On Saturday I had the great fortune to watch Drive, the new film by Nicolas Winding Refn (Bronson, 2008), starring the always great Ryan Gosling (The Notebook) and the lovely - though, not a favourite of mine- Carey Mulligan (An Education) during the Athens Film Festival. The movie, fortunately, lived up to its hype and I am happy to say that it was as exciting and great as I had heard. What helped a lot, though, was the fact that I remained spoiler-free before watching the movie, only knowing the official synopsis of the film and not even having watched a single clip or trailer. It was nice for a change.
