New Line Cinema, Warner Bros and MGM have officially announced the titles and release dates of the two-parted Hobbit films. The first one titled "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" will be released on December 14th 2012 and the second titled "The Hobbit: There and Back Again" will come out on December 13th, 2013. Having read the book, both titles are very good and intriguing in my opinion.
The two films are based on the book "The Hobbit" by J.K.K.Tolkien which tells the story of how Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), Frodo's uncle, first found the one ring. They are going to be directed by none other than Lord of Rings' Peter Jackson while many from the original cast and crew are returning too. Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins, Andy Serkis as Gollum, Ian McKellen as Gandalf the Grey, Cate Blanchett as Galadriel, Hugo Weaving as Elrond, Orlando Bloom as Legolas, Ian Holm as the elderly Bilbo and Christopher Lee as Saruman are already confirmed.
