personal views on movies... and some other things

Aaand it's official! Jurassic Park IV has a release date!

Universal Studios has announced the release date for the long-awaited 4th film in the Jurassic Park series. The new film will come out in theatres on June 13, 2014 and Steven Spielberg (who has just been nominated for another Academy Award for this year's Lincoln) is to return as a producer.
This news comes just after the announcement that Spielberg's sci-fi project Robopocalypse (an adaptation of Daniel H.Wilson's book and Spielberg's supposed Lincoln follow-up ) is delayed indefinitely. Does this mean that Spielberg will return to the director's chair for the new Jurassic Park film? We can't be sure until we get another announcement but one thing is for certain, Spielberg has been following the progress of the project very closely and screenwriters Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) have written a script for the new movie.

The Jurassic Park franchise began 20 years ago in 1993 with the first Jurassic Park film that starred Sam Neil, Samuel L. Jackson, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Richard Attenborough and continued with two not-so-good sequels: The Lost World (1997) starring Jeff Goldblum and Julianne Moore, and Jurassic Park III (2001) with Sam Neil, William H. Macy and Téa Leoni. Let's hope that the new film will be as good as the first.

One last reminder:
20 years after the release of one of the most successful blockbusters in the history of cinema, the first film returns to theatres this April in a 3D re-release.
