In this section, we revisit some of the movie scenes that have stayed with me over the years, and as it is Valentine's Day today (and even though I am not a fan of this particular holiday) I have chosen to show you one really subtle yet quite romantic scene from one of my most favourite films of all time: Wall-E (2008). Not your typical rom-com for the day, right?
Pixar's amazing futuristic film tells the story of a small unusual robot named Wall-E, whose directive is to clean the Earth from all the waste that has been gathered on its surface. The humans, on their part, have abandoned the planet for as long as this cleaning project takes place put as the years pass, Wall-E becomes the only robot of its kind that remains active. One day, the cute robot, which has developed a tendency to collect things that he finds unique and irreplaceable, comes across an incredible discovery: a living plant which shows that life on Earth is still possible. Also, he is paid a visit by another robot which is more advanced and clean-cut and whose directive is to find proof that the humans can return to Earth. Eve finds the plant but also manages to find a place in little Wall-E's robotic heart. And this affection that grows inside Wall-E makes him chase after his heart's desire and eventually save mankind itself.
In the video that follows and is a part of our Memorable Scenes pieces, Wall-E and Eve start dancing in space as they try to catch and rescue each other. This results in one of the most beautiful and touching scenes of Pixar's filmography.
