personal views on movies... and some other things

Did you see the new "Game of Thrones" teaser?

Few are the TV Series that have a tremendous following, and fewer those that even the smallest information about them is news-worthy. However, this is not an ordinary series. Moreover this is not insignificant information. We are talking about recent years' sensation Game of Thrones (2011-) and this is Season Six' new teaser trailer. And honestly, this is a great teaser worthy of the name.
Obviously, if you are new to the series and/or you are in the middle of any previous season you should not be reading this. I am always careful of posting spoilers but here we are talking about the sixth season of a great show and it would be dangerous to continue, so I'm warning you in advance. And by the way, if you truly are not up-to-date, what are you doing here? Go watch Game of Thrones

So now that it is between me and you fellow updated watchers, let's recap (or, let's try to): The fifth season of Game of Thrones left us in a maze of unanswered and stressful cliffhangers. Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) tries to retain the power that she's gained but things do not seem to be extremely easy for her. Not only that, but her dragons tend to disobey her continuously. Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) [as well as her daughter in law (Natalie Dormer)] has been humiliated by the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce) who is the new religious leader of King's Landing, humble and always ready to fight injustice and infidelity to the Gods. Her brother Jaime Lannister (Nicolaj Coster-Waldau) has just witnessed the death of his niece and daughter on their way back to King's Landing. Their other brother, (and fan favourite) Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) spent all last season trying to get away from the people who chased him due to his father's murder and is now in service of none other than Daenerys herself. Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane)'s fate remains unknown as Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) may have raised her sword to take his head for the murder of his brother Renly but the shot was cut before the actual execution took place.

As for the Starks.. oh, the Starks. This family, so beat up by fate, has spread across Westeros and no one knows if they will ever be able to regain control of their land Winterfell, let alone meet again or take revenge for their relatives' cruel murders. When we last saw Arya (Maisie Williamsshe had turned blind in the Hall of Faces and Sansa (Sophie Turner) had just jumped over Winterfell's wall to escape Ramsay Snow (Iwan Rheon)'s barbarity along with Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) who seems to be remembering his former self. As for Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), we haven't seen him since season 5 when he started his journey North in order to find the Three-Eyed Crow. And finally, the biggest cliffhanger of all (both for series-watchers and book-readers alike): Jon Snow (Kit Harington)'s fate. Is he dead or alive?
Many are the theories concerning his future and HBO is well aware of this as they take as much advantage of the controversy as they can. The first poster of the new season is Jon Snow covered in blood and the new teaser plays with our curiosity more that it should. But it is great, nonetheless. It sets the mood for the dark fate that may await each and every beloved character in Westeros. You can tell that nobody is safe as all heroes (dead and living) are presented in the Hall of Faces that was introduced last season. And even if you feel underwhelmed by it, remember: firstly, it is just a teaser and secondly it is one of the many trailers that are sure to follow in the remaining two months until Season 6's premiere.
A girl is waiting patiently.

Season Six of Game of Thrones comes on April 24th.
