Independence Day: Resurgence Trailer

Haven't humans learnt anything? Aliens are persistent and when you think you're done with them, they always come back. So, here it is. The sequel to the successful Independence Day, that came out 20 whole years ago, is coming to theatres this summer and it looks nothing short of exciting. Two decades might be a long time for the realisation of a sequel but the truth is that Independence Day belongs to the genre that can only be aided by more advanced visual effects (provided that the story is somewhat interesting of course).
Therefore this time, Roland Emmerich, the king of disaster movies such as Independence Day (1996), Godzilla (1998), The Day after Tomorrow (2001), 2012 (2009) and White House Down (2013) returns to the world and heroes he introduced us to so many years ago and intends to entertain us once more. Along with him, some actors such as Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman also come back and seem ready to fight the hostile aliens who want to get their revenge.
To be honest, I have to admit that disaster films and alien invasion films are a guilty pleasure of mine so I'm really looking forward to this sequel. And in my defence the visuals seem jaw-dropping and the atmosphere feels just right. All it's left to see is what they have done with all this time that has passed between the two movies and how they're going to take advantage of all the differences between the completely different eras of the 90s and the 2010s (at least from a technological point of view).
