personal views on movies... and some other things

The trailer for "Vice" has arrived and it is brilliant!

If you are familiar with cinematic news you may have caught the headlines about a Dick Cheney biopic which has been in production recently. Hitting theatres in December, the first trailer for the movie has just been released and it seems even more brilliant and entertaining than expected. Not much of a surprise really, if you know that Vice is directed by Adam McKay, the man who brought us the masterly and exceptionally clever The Big Short, a film that was nominated for four Academy Awards (among which the one for Best Picture) and won the one for Best Adapted Screenplay; The Big Short was also my favourite film of 2015
Once again, McKay works with the master of transformations (and one of my top5 favourite actors) Academy Award Winner Christian Bale [The Dark Knight (2008), The Fighter (2010), Hostiles (2017)] who has once again completely changed his appearance (reaching an unrecognisable level) in order to become Dick Cheney, the famous Vice President of the George W. Bush Administration. In the trailer we not only see Bale embodying Cheney, but we witness, an also changed,Sam Rockwell (who was recently awarded with an Oscar for his work in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) portraying George W. Bush in a seemingly flawless way. We also get a glimpse of Amy Adams [American Hustle (2013), Arrival (2016)] as Lynne Cheney and Steve Carell [Foxcatcher (2014), Little Miss Sunshine (2006)] as Donald Rumsfeld. The trailer also shows McKay's characteristic fun and even ironic style which was such a prominent feature of The Big Short.
Vice is starting to look like a film we shouldn't miss. Here is the trailer:
