Staying in the mood of books and adaptations, today I present to you the trailer for the first film -in hopefully a series of at least three- of The Mortal Instruments series. The Mortal Instruments is a series of books written by Cassandra Clare. The heroine of the series is a teenage girl, Clary Fray, who lives in New York with her mum. In the first book (and movie) City of Bones, she is suddenly introduced to a parallel universe that co-exists with our own, a universe where demons exist and are hunted and killed by a group of specially-trained people named Shadowhunters.
What Clary will soon find out is that she is not as normal as she thought she was, and her family is also not what she's been told that they are. As she discovers the demon world, she must also find out what has been kept hidden from her throughout all her life.

I read the books during this year's summer and they are quite entertaining and promising for a good series of films -should the first film succeed in the box office. The trailer is not exceptionally amazing but it sets the right tone and it introduces a bit of the story's world. It's just a teaser after all.
The film stars Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower, Robert Sheenan, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Lena Headey, Jared Harris, Aidan Turner, Kevin Zegers and Jemima West. It is directed by Harald Zwart and it has just finished filming.
