A new musical is coming to life this Christmas and its first trailer arrived yesterday. It tells the story of a witch who has cursed a Baker and his Wife with childlessness and makes them perform some different missions that involve various well-known fairy-tale heroes such as Cinderella, Rapunzel, Little Red Ridinghood and Jack and the Beanstalk. This is a screen adaptation of a successful stage musical and during the years many attempts have been made to transfer it to the big screen.
What is even more important, though, are the names that are involved in this adaptation. The film stars Meryl Streep as the Witch, Johnny Depp as the Wolf, Anna Kendrick as Cinderella, Chris Pine as Cinderella's Prince, James Corden as the Baker, Emily Blunt as the Baker's wife and Tracey Ullman as Jack's mother. The film is directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago, Nine, Memoirs of a Geisha).
