Mr. Turner: the new film by Mike Leigh

    Mike Leigh the acclaimed English director of beautiful films such as Secrets & Lies (1996), Topsy-Turvy (1999) and Happy-Go-Lucky (2008) hasn't made a film since 2010 when Another Year was released. This year however, he returns with a story set in the first half of the 19th century, a story that explores the life of the great British painter J.M.W. Turner who affected by his father's death, exploits the love of a housekeeper and eventually lives with a seaside landlady. During all this he paints, he travels with the aristocracy, he does eccentric things such as climbing on a mast to paint a snowstorm and he is both admired and judged by the public.
    The film comes out in October and it stars the always top-notch Timothy Spall (Secrets & Lies, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Sweeney Todd, The Last Samurai) in the title role. Here is the beautiful-looking trailer:
