"Macbeth" trailer: prepare to be amazed

This past year a lot has been circulating the internet about the adaptation of this classic Shakespearean play and yet a mystery has been veiling the film.

Macbeth is directed by -relatively- newcomer Justin Kurzel and it stars Michael Fassbender in the title role and Marion Cotillard in the role of his wife.
The famous tale written by the greatest playwright of all time, Shakespeare, follows the story of a Scottish General who on  his way home from a victorious battle, meets three witches that make a prophecy. According to their prophecy, he is supposed to become the King of Scotland. Motivated by the possibility of greatness and egged on by his wife, Lady Macbeth, he decides to kill the king and take his place. His actions will not remain unpunished however, as both he and his wife soon start to be haunted by ghosts and nightmares, tormented as they are by the guilt of what they have done.

Today, the Weinstein Company has released the trailer for the film, and it looks stunning. Here's hoping that the cinematography and the feeling that emerges from a single trailer will be even better when we finally watch the whole film.

Finally, one small trivia: as we speak, the team (Kurzel, Fassbender and Cotillard) that has brought this fascinatingly intriguing adaptation on screen is filming the first Assassin's Creed movie, based on the successful series of video games. I can't wait.
