personal views on movies... and some other things

Philip Seymour Hoffman is the "Master"

Whenever I watch Philip Seymour Hoffman I'm in awe of his talent. I'm always impressed by the way he expresses emotion without over-reacting. He always gives such powerful, touching performances which are always different and unique and he never repeats himself. The new film in which he stars is a film by the talented (and personal favourite of mine) writer and director of the exceptional Magnolia, Boogie Nights, and There will be Blood, Paul Thomas Anderson. The Master is a drama set in the 1950s that narrates the story of the relationship between an intellectual, known as "The Master" whose faith-based organisation starts to gain followers and a young drifter (Joaquin Phoenix) who becomes his right-hand man. The film also stars Amy Adams.

The second trailer for this film manages to capture the feeling of the movie and intrigue the audience without spoilering too much.
