It might have been 22 years since the catastrophic events on Isla Nublar but apparently people still think that opening a park that features hundreds of man-eating giant creatures is a good idea, so the Jurassic Park is finally open and fully functioning. The theme park has been attracting visitors from all over the world for ten years and John Hammond's vision seems to be an unimaginable success until.. well, people mess with nature once more. Due to declining visitor rates the Jurassic Park scientists have created a new attraction to lure more people in, but honestly, why would you create an even more dangerous dinosaur when - as history has showed us- nature's creations are all you need to make your park a living hell?
Jurassic World comes 22 years after the phenomenal Jurassic Park (1993) and it is directed by Colin Trevorrow [Safety not Guaranteed (2012)]. It stars Chris Pratt [Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Parks and Recreation], Bryce Dallas Howard [The Help (2011), The Village (2004)] and Vincent D'Onofrio [The Cell (2000)].
However, this isn't the only sequel that has come out of this franchise. The first movie might be incomparably great and grand (and whoever is even a little acquainted with me knows that it is my most favourite film) but two more films were released after it: the passable The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) starring Jeff Goldblum and Oscar-winner Julianne Moore and the unbearable (in my opinion at least) Jurassic Park III (2001) starring Sam Neill and William H. Macy. The marketing for the third sequel in the series seems to be avoiding any reference to these films and it is quite interesting to see if this will also be the case in the movie. Will the events that take place in the sequels be addressed or they'll be completely ignored?
The Jurassic Park fan base as well as the action lovers everywhere hope that Jurassic World won't disappoint as the other sequels have done in the past.
Boy, it's about time we had a good Jurassic Park film.
