Memorable Movie Scenes No.11

Quentin Tarantino is one of my most favourite modern directors as he always brings us something different and is not afraid to do whatever he likes in a movie, managing to give his own signature to the scripts, the direction, the characters he creates and the music he uses. Whenever you watch a Tarantino film, you are sure to get something unique and enjoyable even if you are not a fan. So now, since The Hateful Eight, his new film, has come out or is about to come out in many countries, and news of a possible second sequel to the Kill Bill universe has surfaced, I decided to revisit one of his greatest scenes in one of my favourite films of his: Kill Bill vol. 1
It is the scene where The Bride (Uma Thurman) visits "The House of Blue Leaves", aka the venue where the final showdown of the film takes place, with her fighting O'Ren's lieutenants one by one or in groups and then finally, O'Ren (Lucy Liu) herself. "The House of Blue Leaves" is a club and when The Bride enters, there is a band that is playing music on stage. Then, the camera follows our heroine to the toilet and from there it follows everyone in the club -from regular clients, to the owner of the shop, to waiters and singers, to Sofie (Julie Dreyfus), who is O'Ren's assistant, in a magnificent one-shot that manages to make us believe we really are in the club ourselves. Enjoy and Happy New Year!
